This is what Chase says about the Chase Flexible Rewards Credit Card:

Why settle for a rewards credit card that limits your choice of rewards? With the Flexible RewardsSM Platinum Visa® card, you can earn 1 point for every dollar spent and turn everyday purchases into extraordinary rewards:
  • Merchandise - Choose from a variety of great brand name products.
  • Travel - Earn airline tickets, hotel stays or car rentals.
  • Cash back - Redeem 3,500 points and receive a $25 check.
  • Gift cards - Get free stuff from your favorite stores and restaurants.
for up to 12 months* and Earn 1,000 bonus points with your first purchase. Enjoy great rewards that you can redeem with as few as 2,500 points. Save even more with 0% APRno annual fee. The time period for the introductory APR and the balance transfers to which it will apply will be based on our review of your application and credit history.
That all sounds pretty good, but take a look below at what one of users said. He states that it's not so easy to redeem airline rewards. This is what I love about our site. We can only go so far in reviewing these cards before we need you guys to take over and let us know what it's like to actually use these cards. I hope more of our users comment on the card so that all our users can benefit from their knowledge.

Good w/ exceptions

Chase is fine, the card is fine, except for airline travel. If you want to use airline travel, make your reservation for at least a year in advance, unless you want to go to Kansas. Most airlines have little or no travel available, not like prior years.

New Chase Freedom card

Can anyone tell me if they prefer this card over the new Chase Freedom card? It's the one I saw on TV. You can find it at www.chase.com/freedom.
